The extremely rocky and historic Donner Pass lies about 90 miles northeast of Sacramento, California and just towards west of Donner Lake and Truckee, California. Yes, this may be the famous Pass that the Donner Party met their demise in during the early days on the old west.
Besides its infamous history, inside the contemporary day, this region also has magnificent granite with domelike walls, vertical cliffs with overhangs, and subtle ramps on multi-pitched slabs, it’s it all! What’s even a lot more impressive about this well-known location is the fact that both sport and traditional climbing routes live in harmony with every other. It’s got not succumbed for the destruction of around bolting, graffiti, or rubbish along its trails. The beginner climber can top rope, a leader can clip bolts or place gear, plus a soloist has ample areas to boulder.
Upon reaching the summit, you will begin to see some on the rock walls. The initial wall you may arrive to could be the “Stealth and Black Wall” in your correct.
